HANDMADE MATCHA BOWLS - ESSENTIAL UTENSIL FOR THE JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY
Matcha bowls are an indispensable part in the preparation of Matcha Tea and really bring out the delicate taste of the tea. Our matcha bowls are lovingly shaped and glazed by hand. That's why each bowl is unique with small individual differences in color and shape - the handmade individual pieces may therefore vary slightly from the photos in color and structure.
Matcha bowls have a long tradition in Japan and have been made from ceramic in a complex firing process for many centuries. The often uneven and slightly wavy edge of the matcha bowl is one of its special features and is reminiscent of the mountainous landscape of Japan. The unusual shapes and color gradients of the Matcha bowls also reflect the beauty of natural imperfection, which is called Wabi Sabi in Japan.
JAPANESE ELEGANCE WITH A TIMELESS SIMPLE DESIGN
Our “Kiniro” bowl impresses with its golden color accents on a black background. The flat base and the sufficiently large capacity make the bowl the ideal matcha bowl. This bowl is also part of the “Kiniro” matcha set.

CLEANING THE MATCHA BOWL PROPERLY - IT'S THAT EASY
This Matcha bowl (Chawan) was lovingly shaped and glazed by hand. Since it is a handmade unique piece, the Chawan should not be cleaned in the dishwasher.
We recommend rinsing with water for cleaning and using dishwashing liquid for heavier soiling. It is best to clean with lukewarm water immediately after use.
